WE CHANGED OUR SPRING PLAY… It doesn’t happen often but this time we seem to have worn out our supply of middle age male actors. After many auditions we concluded that we needed to go for a smaller cast, so DCP’s spring play 2016 will be Norm Foster’s ‘My Darling Judith’ instead of the advertised Michael Grant’s ‘Shorthanded’. Same dates, same place, same price. The cast is in rehearsal in our beloved but crowded rehearsal hall.

This play is the comic story of a business men wanting to have an affair. He tries to distract his wife by tasking one of his employees with the mission of seducing her. Will it work? Come and see.

The play will be performed at the Old Town Hall on April 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th and 17th, 2016.

From left to right: Rachelle Eves, Lynn Jolicoeur, Tony Glen and Jim Perkins.

Auditions, Jan 2 and 3

AUDITIONS for Shorthanded, by Michael Grant . Saturday and Sunday Jan 2, 3/ 2016 10:00 – noon at the Winchester Old Town Hall.

We need 8 males who appear to be between 40 and 60 years old.

It’s a comedy about 8 old time hockey players getting ready for their last chance at a championship. The play is less about hockey than it is about the relationships between men who have played hockey together since they were pee-wees. It is about health, marital issues and interpersonal relationships.

If you intend to audition, please reply to billandsuesteele (at)gmail(dot)com or on the Facebook audition post on either the Dundas County Players group or page. The play runs April 8th to 17th, 2016.

Audition Call for Twelve Angry Jurors

The Dundas County Players production of
Twelve Angry Jurors (an adaptation of Twelve Angry Men)
Written by Reginald Rose and directed by Tony Glen

This is a gripping and revealing classic of the stage and screen. Twelve jurors are sequestered to a jury room to do their civic duty and decide on the verdict on a seemingly open-and-shut capital murder trial. The story examines the twelve people’s deep-seated personal prejudices, perceptual biases and weaknesses, indifference, anger, personalities, unreliable judgments, cultural differences, ignorance and fears, that threaten to taint their decision-making abilities. The pace is intense and the outcome is thought-provoking.
Needed is a diverse ensemble cast of twelve adults: men, women, old and young.
Also being sought is a production crew (stage, set, tech, etc).

Casting: before the end of June.
Rehearsals begin in the second week of September.
Production dates: November 13 – 22, 2015.

AUDTIONS to take place at The Old Town Hall, Winchester (upstairs in the rehearsal hall).
Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30pm.
Wednesday, June 17 at 7:30pm.
