Back from EODL One Act Play Festival

The cast and crew of Crawl to be Kind just returned from Kingston, having participated in the 2012 Eastern Ontario Drama League One-Act play Festival, hosted by Kingston.

The festival goers saw 9 great plays and their adjudications.  The festival format has 3 plays performed Friday night followed by adjudications, 3 play Saturday afternoon followed again by their adjudications and the same Saturday night to complete the festival performances.  On Sunday, we all gathered at the Kingston Day’s Inn for the awards brunch.

The adjudicator, Beatrix Quarrie,  awarded the 13 awards listing runners up and winners for a variety of theatrical prowesses.  DCP came out with two awards, one going to the 6 actors (Anita Plunkett, Loretta DiEugenio, Maggie Badior, Charles Laurin, Jim Perkins and Shannon Murdock) for ‘ensemble’, recognizing the team coordination demonstrated on stage.  The other award was for the co-producers of our participation to the festival: Suzanne Steele and JP Leduc recognizing the coordination demonstrated off stage.  We are obviously a well coordinated and cooperative group.

This past weekend was lots of fun and the next one-act play festival will be hosted by Merrickville’s Theatre Night In Merrickville (TNIM) November 2013.
See you there.
