After the Summer

I Know it’s not really over yet, but with the end of August come early evening, cooler weather (maybe) and outside choirs now that the bugs are gone. On the fun side, we can look at a great summer and the start of rehearsals for our Fall Production.

First, a huge thank you and congratulations to Lauren Casselman for putting together another winning team and a great show for the Youth Summer Workshop. To all those who helped in the many jobs that make this possible, thank you very much from me and the DCP executive.

We just had DCP’s Summer General Meeting, including a delicious potluck, a review of our constitution and a play reading of Mat Kelly and Vic Trepmontry very funny ‘Nanny Featherbottow and the Neighbour’s Corpse’. Thanks to all the readers. I think we will do more of these readings in the future. It’s relatively easy and so much fun. The amendments voted at the meeting should start appearing online on the DCP wiki in the next few weeks.

Work continues to achieve our next objectives: Mostly the production of Agatha Christie’s ‘Witness for the Prosecution’ with a large cast directed by Elizabeth Barton. I am also meeting with Township staff to discuss the reservation process for the Old Town Hall and ensure that all the users of the Hall are happy with the way it is used and maintained.

I hope you all had as much fun as I’ve had so far. See you at the Hall.
